Over the next six weeks, we will be posting items that should help you plan for the EOGs as the big date gets closer. EOG’s are just another part of our school year. True, they are an important part of our school year, and as always, the children should treat them as an important assessment, but they should be looked at as an extension of our curriculum.
EOG’s will be taking place on:
- Tuesday, June 11th (Reading)
- Wedensday, June 12th (Math–all in one day)
- Thursday, June 13th (Science–this is a new test for the fifth graders)
Please plan for these dates now! Don’t schedule trips, Dr. appointments and other items that could either make your child late, or take them out of school early. If they are one minute late, it can throw off their day, and if they are late to the room once the test starts, they won’t be admitted, per Wake County and North Carolina testing rules. Testing starts promptly at 9:30.
There will be:
- 52 questions for Language Arts
- 54 questions for Math
- 75 questions for Science
This is always one of the biggest questions that the children have, so I like to get it out there as early as possible.
As always, if you have any questions, email me at jtpete@wcpss.net, or email Mrs. Penland at cpenland@wcpss.net, and we’ll do whatever we can to “de-mystify” the EOG’s!!!!!
Have a great day!!!
